Florists

Flowers add colour and fragrance to the day so theming your wedding flowers in accordance to the season of the year and topical colours ensures that the special day is romantic and modern.

If your big day is in spring, pick bright yellows and greens and pastel shades such as lilac and mint to colour co-ordinate with the blossoming plants and fresh evenings. Seasonal flowers consist of tulips, daffodils, primroses or violets.

Summer is the most popular season to get married as flowers and sunshine are in abundance; the ranges are endless. Use exploding vibrant colours, tastes and smells from corn yellow, grass green and turquoise sea blue.

In autumn as the leaves turn red and golden reflect this in your flower tones by choosing rich yellows, gold, copper, peach and browns that are warm and inviting. Popular choices include roses, orchids, chrysanthemums and gardenias.

Or in winter, be cautious that some flowers may not be available to buy and most florists shut during these cold months. Use red berries, green foliage or white lilies with accents of crystal pearls or beads to create a snowy or frost landscape and backdrop; as well as silver-sprayed twigs and holly.

As for the bouquet, there is so much choice from roses, orchids, lilies, carnations and sunflowers. All come in a variety of colours and are super versatile.
