Ring bearers

A ringbearer, otherwise called a page boy, is a person who holds a special position in the wedding. Their importance lies down to their job to walk down the aisle, carrying both wedding rings.
Usually a younger member of the family is chosen to be a ringbearer, such as a nephew or son, as a way of involving them in the wedding. They will have a special connection with the bride and groom though.
Traditionally page boys carried the bride’s train down the aisle but nowadays, he simply carries a cushion with the bands on them. It is advisable the rings are tied on with thread to prevent their accidental loss.
The ringbearer is typically the same age as the flower girls, and is younger than 10 years old. When choosing your ring bearer look for a responsible young man who will take their role seriously.
You may want to avoid selecting a very youthful boy in case he becomes scared or confused. Whoever you choose, dress them as a mini groomsman in a tiny suit or tuxedo to match the rest of the men.
But there is nothing to stop the ringbearer being a little girl! She can have pretty petals on the cushion and wear a matching dress to the bridesmaids or flower girls.

More unusually, a trained barn owl makes the delivery of the wedding rings something very special!  Check out our owl ringbearer in our directory!
